Uluwatu is located in the southernmost part of the island of Bali. Famous for its temple on top of the cliff facing the Indian Ocean, the Pura Luhur Uluwatu, and its Kecak dance performance. Uluwatu is also a heaven for surfers. So, whether you are a local Balinese, a tourist, or a foreign surfer who resides within the Uluwatu area, here is my recommendation on where to eat at Uluwatu.
Please note that this is not a sponsored post. None of the cafes I mentioned and reviewed in this article paid me or gave me free foods/drinks in return. So, ready for the review?
Table of Contents:
Be Ja Na

Located just before the entrance of Pura Luhur Uluwatu, Be Ja Na provides a breakfast, lunch, and dinner menu as it opens from 9 am to 9 pm. Besides the indoor seating area, Be Ja Na also has nice outdoor seating as captured by their Instagram account.
Be Ja Na's menu is a combination between Balinese local food and Western food. You can try bagels or eggs benedict for breakfast. While for lunch or dinner, chicken satay, nasi bebek betutu (duck betutu with rice), and tuna or salmon steak could be an option.

Suka Espresso

Suka Espresso is always busy during brunch on weekends, not only by its human customers but also because of their customers' dogs which running around the cafe while accompanied their owners to dine in. Thankfully, the cafe's interior is a semi-open space.
Perhaps, the busyness is also because of their 50.000-60.000 IDR all foods and drinks policy. The cafe serves all-day breakfast from 8 am to 3 pm, and they start to serve main courses from 3 pm to 9 pm. Suka Espresso has also opened its 2nd outlet in Ubud.
Personally, I love Suka Espresso's iced latte as they serve it with vanilla ice cream. But, it is a bit pricey. I should pay about 50.000 to 60.000 IDR for a glass of iced latte! Ups! Remember the 50K-60K all foods and drinks policy? Anyway, if you are in the mood for dessert, their brownies and shortbread cookies are a must-try!

Mana

Mana definitely provides the best view of all. Located within the complex of Uluwatu Surf Villas, this spacious semi-opened two-story building spoiled its customers with a magnificent view of the ocean from on top of a cliff. Mana also has a swimming pool open for outside guests who dine in at Mana.
Mana opens for both breakfast, lunch, and dinner, from 8 am to 9 pm. A friend of mine who is a surfer herself and used to hang out around Uluwatu area recommended me to try Mana's classic french toast for breakfast. As for lunch, try to grab its baja shrimp taco or tuna poke. For a snack, try its polenta, it is french fries with parmesan cheese. Or, simply drink its iced cold brew & coco, a mixture of coffee with coconut water.

Ours.

Honestly, Ours. is my wishlist cafe as its parking lot is always full of motorcycles every time I passed through. But, from the outside, its interior seems very attractive and there are also nice outdoor seating areas as you can see on their Instagram account.
Like any other cafe in Bali, Ours. provides healthy foods, as well as pasta and another menu. Try their new quinoa porridge or vegan pancake for healthy choices. As for me, I wish I can enjoy its salmon ravioli with lemon butter sauce or truffle risotto.

Nourish

Located a little bit far from the other four cafes I reviewed before, Nourish is located on the main street of Jalan Raya Uluwatu. Their menu varies from smoothies to homemade fresh juices, hummus, and vegan zucchini zoodles, as well as pizza and burgers.
However, I prefer Nourish's fish and chips or its catch of the day. Catch of the day is a fish steak menu, it could be sea-bass, dory, or salmon, with mashed potato and sauteed vegetables, yummy!
Nourish is open daily from 7 am to 10 pm for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. The cafe also has huge windows that are always wide open. Perfect for the current pandemic situation, right?
